Kangaroo Bay Hotel - assessment criteria

Overview

The major project proposes use and development for a hotel at Kangaroo Bay on the eastern shore of the River Derwent.

It comprises 155 hotel rooms and about 1000m² of meeting spaces in a multistorey building and provides landscaped foreshore public open space and off-street parking.

This is the first stage of the major project assessment process under the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 (the Act). If the Development Assessment Panel (the Panel) considers the major project has a reasonable prospect, based on advice from relevant regulators, the Panel prepares and exhibits draft assessment criteria for public comment.
