Any person applying to a council for a planning scheme amendment or combined permit and amendment can expect that fees will apply.
Councils set their fees independently and they may vary from council to council.
The Commission has the following fees:
Planning scheme amendment
$382 is the current fee (paid by the person requesting the amendment or the council if it is the council’s amendment). This fee is updated each financial year in line with all Tasmanian government fees.
Major project
Fees for a major project assessment is the recovery of the full costs incurred by the Commission for the:
- Preparation of assessment criteria
- Preliminary consideration of a major project impact statement
- Final assessment of the major project impact statement; and
- Decision to grant or refuse a major project permit.
Fees for Major Projects are contained within the Land Use Planning and Approvals Regulations 2024 – Part 4.
Other charges
The Commission may charge for photocopies of documents. There is no charge for copies of documents provided electronically.
