Overview
The major project proposes use and development of a new Bridgewater Bridge and associated road infrastructure. It comprises a four lane bridge crossing the River Derwent with connecting interchanges at Granton and Bridgewater. The proposal affects land within the Brighton, Derwent Valley and Glenorchy municipalities.
This is the second stage of the major project assessment process under the Land Use Planning ad Approvals Act 1993 (the Act). The Major Project Impact Statement (MPIS) prepared by the proponent is assessed by the Development Assessment Panel (the Panel) against the assessment criteria. The Panel publicly exhibits the proposal and MPIS and invites comment. The Panel then decides whether to grant a major project permit.
