Overview
Local Provisions Schedules (LPSs), together with the State Planning Provisions (SPPs), form the Tasmanian Planning Scheme for a municipal area. There are to be 29 LPSs across Tasmania. This is an assessment of a LPS to determine if it meets the LPS criteria under section 34 the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993.

On 19 April 2023, the Commission directed Hobart planning authority to exhibit the draft LPS.
Please note, the draft LPS references three Australian Standards as applied, adopted or incorporated documents. These are licenced documents and payment is required to download them from the SAI Global website. You can view hard copies of the following Australian Standards at Hobart City Council or the Commission’s office:
- Pedestrian area lighting standard (AS1158)
- Acoustics (Recommended design sound levels and reverberation times for building interiors) (AS2107:2016)
- Outdoor lighting obtrusive effects (AS4282)
