The Panel for the Cellars Hill Wind Farm Major Project has determined the assessment criteria in accordance with section 60ZM of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 (the Act).
The Panel has also determined the guidelines for assessment of matters of national environmental significance (MNES guidelines), for the accredited assessment of the major project under the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
The next stage in the process is that the proponent will prepare and submit a Major Project Impact Statement. The Panel will then assess the project against the assessment criteria along with other requirements of the Act.
The Panel will also report to the Commonwealth on the major project’s potential impacts on matters of national environmental significance.
