Overview

The draft amendment of the State Planning Provisions (SPPs) 01-2022 (draft amendment) proposes to insert exemptions, and permitted and discretionary pathways relating to use and development required to facilitate the Department of Natural Resource and Environment’s Container Refund Scheme (CRS).

The draft amendment would be effective in all municipalities operating under the Tasmanian Planning Scheme.  This includes Brighton, Burnie, Central Coast, Central Highlands, Circular Head, Clarence, Devonport, Dorset, Flinders, Glamorgan Spring Bay, Glenorchy, Latrobe, Launceston, Meander Valley, Northern Midlands, Southern Midlands, Tasman, Waratah-Wynyard, West Coast and West Tamar municipalities.

Commission receives draft amendment to the State Planning Provisions (SPPs) for assessment

On 25 January 2023 the Minister for Planning approved draft SPP amendment 01/2022 for public exhibition, and requested the Tasmanian Planning Commission to commence formal assessment of the draft SPP amendment 01-2022 under the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993.
