The Cradle Coast Regional Land Use Planning Framework provides a regional perspective on land use planning issues of significance for all the municipal areas within the Cradle Coast Region of northwest Tasmania.The Framework contains the Cradle Coast Regional Land Use Strategy 2010-2030, a statutory planning instrument under the Tasmanian Resource Management and Planning System. The purpose of the Strategy is to provide a consistent policy foundation for the regulatory intentions and requirements contained in local planning schemes prepared for each municipal area.

Under the Tasmanian Planning Commission Act 1993, the Minister for Planning and Local Government must provide the Commission with a statement of expectation. This outlines his expectations of the Commission over a two year period. The current statement of expectation is for the period until 31 December 2017.

The Regional Land Use Strategy for Northern Tasmania is a strategic plan for the region’s future development and planning to 2032. It has a 20-year planning time horizon for integrated infrastructure, land use development and transport planning, underpinned by economic development, social and environmental strategies. The strategy will be revised regularly as new evidence based strategic planning investigations and information is made available to provide greater certainty to the strategic planning and development of the region.

Southern Tasmania Regional Land Use Strategy 2010-2035, amended 9 May 2018 (PDF, 9.1 MB) 145 pages 05/2018

This Regional Land Use Strategy is intended to be a broad policy document that will facilitate and manage change, growth, and development within Southern Tasmania over the next 25 years. The Regional Strategy took effect in October 2011 and was updated with minor revisions in October 2013 and September 2016. The current version was amended on 9 May 2018.
