Overview

The major project proposes use and development for wind farms and associated infrastructure at Waterhouse and Rushy Lagoon. It comprises approximately 210 wind turbine generators, associated hardstands, access roads, electricity reticulation, substation and battery storage facilities, metrological masts, site offices, temporary construction facilities including concrete batching plants, quarry and workers accommodation, and may include a marine landing and wharf facility.

This is the second stage of the major project assessment process under the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 (the Act). The Major Project Impact Statement (MPIS) prepared by the proponent is assessed by the Development Assessment Panel (the Panel) against the assessment criteria. The Panel publicly exhibits the proposal and MPIS and invites comment. The Panel then decides whether to grant a major project permit.
