You can view or download the draft SPPs and related documents that were exhibited in March 2016 below. Alternatively, please contact the Commission to get a free CD or arrange to visit the Commission's office to view the documents online or in hard copy.

Terms of Reference

The Terms of Reference for the preparation of the draft SPPs were prepared by the Minister for Planning and Local Government. They can be found in Appendix 1 of the Explanatory Document for the draft SPPs.

Please note: the Terms of Reference refer to Planning Advisory Notes. However, these were retired and replaced with Practice Notes after the Terms of Reference were issued because they had become out dated following changes to the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 over time and the introduction of interim planning schemes across all three regions.

Draft State Planning Provisions (as exhibited in March 2016)

The draft SPPs include the administrative, zone and code provisions and the requirements for Local Provisions Schedules (LPSs) that are to apply in the Tasmanian Planning Scheme. Councils will later be required to prepare LPSs, which will include maps showing the zoning of land. At this stage, only the draft SPPs have been prepared.

Applied, adopted or incorporated documents

The draft SPPs refer to other documents, which set out detailed or specialist procedures or requirements. To help you interpret the draft SPPs in relation to these other documents, the table below provides a link to each document and a reference to the relevant clause in the draft SPPs.

Please note: some documents are available in PDF format and can be viewed and downloaded by clicking on the link. However, some documents are licensed and payment is required to view and download the documents, for example, all documents published by Australian Standards. Hard copies of licensed documents are available for viewing at the Commission’s office on Level 3, 144 Macquarie Street, Hobart from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
