Report on the Draft Tasmanian Wilderness WHA Management Plan

15 April 2016: The Commission has commenced a review of the report on the Draft Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area Management Plan 2014

The Director of National Parks and Wildlife develops management plans for reserves under Part 3 of the National Parks and Reserves Management Act 2002.

The Commission has now received:

  • the Draft Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area Management Plan 2014;
  • the report by the Director of National Parks and Wildlife which includes a summary of all representations made and the Director's opinion on the merit of the representations; and
  • copies of all representations made in response to the draft management plan.

You can view these documents and other relevant information under reviews and hearings on the iplan website.

The Commission is currently deciding if it should hold a hearing as part of its review of the Director's report. A hearing will only be held if the Director's report and the representations are unclear. The Commission will not hold a hearing to review the draft management plan itself. All representors and stakeholders will be informed when the Commission makes this decision.

More information about this process is available on our website. See draft management plan reviews and the role of the Commission.
