Overview

Draft Planning Directive No.9 proposes to insert exemptions, and permitted and discretionary pathways relating to use and development required to facilitate the Department of Natural Resource and Environment’s Container Refund Scheme (CRS).

The planning directive would apply to all municipalities operating under interim planning schemes, including Kentish, King Island, George Town, Break O’Day, Kingborough, Hobart, Derwent Valley, and Huon Valley interim planning schemes, and the Sullivans Cove Planning Scheme 1997.

Exhibition

On 10 May 2023, the Commission gave written notice to the Minister, relevant planning authorities and State Agencies likely to be affected by the planning directive, and invited representations.
