Overview

The draft amendment proposes to rename the former Kingston High School Site Specific Area Plan to Kingston Park Specific Area Plan and make other amendments including to:

  • rezone a portion of land at 42 Channel Highway, Kingston (folios of the Register 151686/1, 173253/1 and 173253/2) from Urban Mixed Use to Inner Residential and Open Space; Central Business to Inner Residential and Urban Mixed Use, and Open Space to Urban Mixed Use;
  • remove reference to the ‘Development Plan by Beca, 2013’;
  • introduce planning provisions that aim to improve public amenity, housing diversity and environmental outcomes;
  • align planning provisions within the Kingston Park Specific Area Plan with the requirements of the State Planning Provisions; and
  • amend any reference to the Former Kingston High School Site Specific Area Plan within the Kingborough Interim Planning Scheme 2015 to reflect the proposed renaming of the specific area plan.
