Panel Established
Panel Membership
A three member Panel has been established to carry out the assessment of the Draft State Policy on the Protection of Agricultural Land 2007. The Commission has delegated to the Panel its powers and functions under the State Policies and Projects Act 1993 and the Resource Planning and Development Commission Act 1997 to enable the Panel to undertake an integrated assessment of the draft State Policy on the Commission’s behalf.
The Commission has appointed a Panel to undertake the assessment on its behalf.
Membership of the Panel is:
Mr John Ramsay
Environment and Planning Consultant, Tasmania
John Ramsay has been a Director and Principal of his own consulting business, John Ramsay & Associates, since January 2006. The business offers services in health and human services, environment, planning and natural resources, and strategic planning and facilitation services.
Before 2006 he was a Tasmanian Departmental Secretary for 23 years, commencing with the now Department of Justice in 1982. From 1989-99 he was Secretary for Environment and Planning, then Environment and Land Management (which included responsibility for the Parks and Wildlife Service) and then Primary Industries, Water and Environment. During that time his appointments included chair of the Land Use Planning Review Panel, membership of the Forest Practices Board and Director General of Lands. From 1999-2005 he was Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.
Since commencing consulting, his assignments have included
John Ramsay qualified as a lawyer in 1976 and since 1 July 2008 is Chair of the Board of the Environment Protection Authority.
Mr Greg Alomes
Executive Commissioner, Resource Planning and Development Commission
Greg Alomes has been Executive Commissioner and Chair of the Resource Planning and Development Commission since March 2008.
Prior to this he has held a number of senior positions in local government for approximately 15 years including the positions of General Manager at the Kingborough and Glenorchy Councils.
He has also worked as a strategic and business planning consultant for 19 years on a range of planning projects covering:
Ms Sandra Hogue
Commissioner, Resource Planning and Development Commission
Ms Hogue has worked at Hydro Tasmania since 2004, has previously worked as a strategic and statutory planner for 22 years with Councils, State Government and private consulting in Tasmania and the UK. She was previously a Heritage Councillor and is currently a Commissioner with the Resource Planning and Development Commission and a member of the Resource Management and Planning Appeal Tribunal.
