Once public comment on the Draft JAP Report has been received and considered, the Panel will complete a Final Joint Advisory Panel (JAP) Report on its assessment of Basslink. This Report will be delivered to the Commonwealth Minister for the Environment and Heritage, the Victorian Minister for Planning and the Tasmanian Resource Planning and Development Commission, which will report to the Tasmanian Premier.
The Commonwealth Department of the Environment will consider the Final JAP Report and give its report to the Minister for the Environment and Heritage. The Minister for the Environment and Heritage considers the report of the Department of the Environment and makes recommendations to the Commonwealth Minister responsible for the proposed action. The Commonwealth Minister responsible for the proposed action will then make a decision.
The Victorian Minister for Planning considers the Final JAP Report, the Final IIAS and submissions and provides an assessment.
The Resource Planning and Development Commission will consider the Final JAP Report and give its report to the Tasmanian Premier.
The Tasmanian Premier considers the report from the Resource Planning and Development Commission and makes a decision on whether to recommend to the Governor the making of an order fixing conditions under which the project can proceed.
