Projects of State Significance

A project of State significance takes a major development proposal outside the planning process established under the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 (as amended).

The Commission is responsible for making recommendations on whether the project should proceed, and if so, on what conditions.

Although the Commission makes recommendations to government about a project of State significance, it is the government of the day that makes the final decisions.
