Review of representations and the Director's Report on the Draft Management Plan 1999-2007 Update for the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area

By letter dated 17 February 2009 the Minister for Environment, Parks, Heritage and the Arts, the Hon Michelle O'Byrne MP, directed the Commission to review the representations and the report of the director of National Parks and Wildlife with reference to the Draft Management Plan.

Under section 22(2) of the National Parks and Reserves Management Act 2002, the Commission is to decide whether or not to hold a hearing to assist in its review of the representations.  The Commission determined at its meeting on 20 April 2009 that it was not necessary to hold a hearing.

As required under section 23(1) of the National Parks and Reserves Management Act 2002, the Commission advises that copies of representations received under the Director's report were available for public inspection for 21 days from Monday, 2 March 2009 at the Commission's Hobart office and on the Commission's website. 

The Commission has completed its review and reported to the Minister.  The report can be viewed and downloaded as a pdf file:
